Our Story

Curatio was founded with a simple yet urgent mission: to ensure that no man faces prostate cancer alone. What began as a personal fight for survival grew into a movement dedicated to awareness, early detection, and advocacy.

Today, Curatio stands as a beacon of hope for men and their families, providing education, resources, and support to those affected by prostate cancer. With a team of survivors and advocates leading the way, we are committed to breaking the silence and saving lives.

In addition, to our mission, we also strive:

1) To be the source of action and information for men’s health and prostate cancer; with the mission to promote awareness, encourage timely detection, lifestyle adjustment, and support improved treatment of prostate cancer in Ohio.

2) To be a statewide organization based in Central Ohio with a board of directors, a small staff, and a network of volunteers across the state. Curatio Prostate Cancer exists to support men in Ohio who will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year, to support the families of men who will die from it and to serve as a resource for the hundreds of thousands more men currently living with the disease.

Core Objectives

  • Break the stigma and barrier of discomfort surrounding discussion of prostate cancer/health.

  • Promote men’s health parity and empowerment through outreach and education.

  • Improve men’s health literacy in high-risk populations.

  • Serve as the recognizable source for prostate cancer information in Ohio.

  • Protect responsible prostate cancer screening involving PSA tests and digital rectal exams.

  • Attract and maintain support from the patient, medical and policy-making communities.

Our Mission

Curatio Prostate Cancer nonprofit is here to educate men about risk factors and symptoms of prostate cancer. We’re here to educate the women who love men about the risk factors and symptoms of prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is an “us” problem.

Curatio Prostate Cancer is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Our TOTAL focus is to educate men about prostate cancer and prostate health. We’ve lost far too many fathers, brothers, and husbands to prostate cancer, and it’s time to fight back.

We’re fighting the good fight. We’re finding men in their natural habitats—churches, sporting events, golf clubs, breweries, outdoor shows. Join our coalition of survivors, families, urologists, nurses, athletes, brewmasters, and others who are raising the profile of prostate cancer and men’s health.

Curatio Prostate Cancer’s mission is to extend and improve the quality of life for our fathers, brothers, and sons through prostate cancer awareness, education, early screening, and the advocacy of responsible screening.
