Throughout Dr. Matu's career, he has built a strong track record of managing complex regulatory environments, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local agencies, and overseeing animal research activities at the highest institutional levels. His work spans critical roles at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, where he has served in progressively senior capacities — from Attending Veterinarian to Research Compliance Director.

Dr. Matu brings deep expertise in IACUC and IBC administration, noncompliance investigation, veterinary protocol review, biosafety oversight, and regulatory reporting to agencies such as OLAW. He is skilled in recruiting and training institutional committee members, coordinating multi-functional compliance teams, and aligning animal research activities with evolving federal mandates and ethical standards.
